Christmas Gift! January 6, 2011

My bedroom is a work in progress.  My mom knows this, so she picked out lamps for my bedroom as my Christmas present!  YAY for matching lamps!

Now, I need mirrors to go behind them to complete the look.  I haven’t decided whether I want curtains or not.

If you go into a Starbucks and see this cup, buy it!!!!  For one, it is a cool cup and is very handy for taking drinks to work, school, etc.  Two, you can sell it on Amazon or eBay for more money than you paid for it.  They are in such high demand that they are being sold online for $10+ more than Starbucks sells them for.  My mother-in-law bought me the large one for my birthday on amazon.com and she calls it the “Golden Chalice.”  She was here recently and asked me for a drink of the golden chalice.  I had no idea what she was talking about until she explained.

I really like the way the paint turned out.  It really does pull the gray tones out of the tile on the floor.  The granite will have gray tones as well.  NOW….all I need is one of the paintings at Spa Lux (it would go perfectly in this new house)!!  I am going to drag my husband in there to look at their collection.  I will probably take a few pictures if they will let me.  They are modern paintings that are not too funky and have 10-25 different colors of gray in them.  It would be perfect for above the fireplace!!

Free or Almost Free March 28, 2009

I have been couponing for several months now.  There are good weeks and bad weeks.  One Frugal Chick got me started.  I read Money Saving Mom everyday and several other blogs that help me find good deals for things that I use.  This week was a good week.  Here is what I got for free or almost free:

The three baguettes were free.  The Hunts tomato sauce was 15 cents/can, the ribeye steak was free and the two T-Bone steaks were $1 each.

I am off to make French Toast Bake with one of my baguettes.

Sophie enjoyed a chocolate-covered raisin!

Here is Sophie feeling tall on a mattress we had propped up on a wall!!100_0496

This week Sophie supposedly ate a chocolate covered raisin.  I did not see it with my own eyes, but my neighbor children said they saw Sophie eat it!  Raisins are very toxic to dogs.  Some dogs are immune, but you should never give you dog raisins or grapes.  And as you all know, dogs are not supposed to have chocolate.  I didn’t want to alarm my neighbors, so I played it off like it was no big deal.  When I got home, Sophie appeared fine but I decided to call the vet just in case.  I called the vet, and he said she should be fine if it was just one.  They told me to bring her in should she start vomiting, acting lathragic, or not acting like herself.

As you can tell, she survived…and enjoying life…a little too much…
