Espresso Glasses July 10, 2008

Filed under: Good Buy — 2:56 pm

Yesterday I was still bummed about breaking my espresso shot glasses.  Ryan wanted me to run to Starbucks and get him a little afternoon treat.  I went to the location on Memorial and 71st.  When I went through the drive-through I ordered and then asked if they sold espresso shot glasses.  The employee said they would check.  When I pulled up to the window, a man peeked his head out holding an espresso shot glass that they use in the store and claimed they didn’t sell any retail but they would sell me some the use in their store.  I asked how much, and he said $1 per glass.  OMG–First of all, that was the type of glass I wanted in the first place; Second of all, if you are to buy espresso shot glasses anywhere else for retail you are likely to pay around $10.  I was so excited!!  That is what I should have done in the first place- try to buy them from Starbucks.  FYI if you make espresso at home!

Target Deal June 22, 2008

My friend Sarah told me about a deal going on at Target today.  It was buy 5 boxes of Kellogs cereal (which some were already on sale) and get a $5 gift card.  Also, I had a coupon for $1 off 3 boxes of General Mills cereal.  Note-all of this sugary cereal is for my husband.  I eat healthy Kashi and Fiber One Cereal.

On the Kellogs Cereal, each box averaged out to be $1.32.  The General Mills cereal averaged $2.81 per box.  With both of my deals (Kellogs and GMs), I averaged $1.88 per box for 8 boxes of cereal.  Sarah is a much better couponer and she averaged $.40 per box on her Kellog cereal.  Go Sarah!  Check her blog out to look at her deals.

New Bikes June 21, 2008

Here is my mom on our new bikes.  We love this style of bike.  My mom and I rode 20 miles on the Saturday morning she was here.  She is coming back down to Tulsa to “see me” but we both know she just wants to ride my bike.

Here is Ryan on his bike.  Mine is the blue one and his is the red one.  Ryan thinks we need to set the trend in Tulsa for these new recumbent bicycles.

Here is my dad trying out the new bikes.

Strawberries for 99 cents! April 27, 2008

Filed under: Good Buy — 9:10 pm

This past week I went to Aldi and found that a small carton of strawberries was only 99 cents!!  I started loading up my cart as I love strawberries and they looked and smelled good.  The next stop for my morning errands was Target.  I noticed the same amount of strawberries at Target were on sell for $2.99.  Just another reason I am shopping at Aldi now.  I still head to Target once a week but only after I make a stop of Aldi.  I realize that not everyone has time to stop at multiple places to do their grocery shopping, but if you do it is worth your time and money.
